Description
Join us this P.A. Day for a fun Country Bumpkin themed Public Skate in partnership with the Youth Connex Committee.
Free admission with a Food Donation (min 2 can donation or other) OR regular admission.
Food Donations supporting the Troy Scott Community Fridge.
- Users must respect fellow skaters and all rules outlined on this page. Please report all accidents or injuries to the on-site supervisor immediately.
- We highly recommend that all skaters wear a CSA - approved helmet during all skating sessions.
- Skaters must skate at a sensible and safe speed, in the same direction as other skaters.
- The middle of the ice surface is reserved for children and less confident skaters.
- Wheelchairs, strollers and skating aids (E-Z gliders) are permitted during Family and Public skating sessions but must be accompanied by a responsible person on skates.
- Wheels must be cleaned prior to entering the ice surface to ensure the safety of all skaters.
- Helmets are required for stroller and wheelchair occupants.
- We ask that wheelchair and stroller users use the perimeter of the ice closest to the boards, as recommended by the Ontario Recreation Facilities Association.
- Chairs are not permitted on the ice.
- Users of Town-owned facilities are personally responsible for ensuring that they are fit to participate in physical activities. Anyone with a condition affecting their ability to participate must take appropriate safety precautions to ensure their own safety. They are encouraged to be accompanied by an adult who is knowledgeable about the condition.
- Users must be wearing skates to be permitted on the ice surface.
- All users must adhere to the following rules of conduct:
- No carrying children while on the ice surface (including baby carriers).
- No headsets, cell phones, or handheld electronic devices are to be used while skating.
- No food and/or drinks are permitted on the ice. They must be enjoyed off the ice.
- Foul language or inappropriate behaviour will result in immediate removal from the facility.
- No games, such as tag, rough-play, horseplay or speed-skating are allowed. They pose a danger to other users.
- No figure skating is permitted during Public Skating.
- Users must skate in the same direction as all other skaters.
- Users must conduct themselves appropriately at all times.
- Users attending Public Skating must have a responsible adult aged 18 or older to accompany any children aged 12 or under.
