The City of Kitchener presents a Black Heritage Month Fireside Chat hosted by Sophia Stanberry, Director, Equity, Anti-Racism and Indigenous Initiatives and Ismail Mohamed, Community Centre Facilitator with a special message from Mayor Berry Vrbanovic.

This intimate conversation with Kitchener’s Black elected leaders features MPP Laura Mae Lindo, Regional Councillor Colleen James, Kitchener Councillor Ayo Owodunni, WRDSB Trustee Maedith Radlein and special guests Kitchener Councillor Paul Singh and Kitchener Councillor Aislinn Clancy.

This event recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of our Black elected officials as part of a historic election year toward a more representative government in the Region of Waterloo. We will also look forward to the future as each leader discusses what they hope to achieve in their term, systemic barriers and how we can aspire towards an inclusive and equitable Kitchener.
