Mississauga Library's Author Talks series features a wide range of talented writers. Hear authors read from their books. Ask questions, learn about the writing process, and find out more about their craft of telling captivating stories.

Wednesdays | 7-8 pm

January 25: Jennifer Hillier is an award-winning author of seven psychological thrillers. A Filipino-Canadian born and raised in Toronto, she spent several years in Seattle before returning home to Canada. Jennifer is the author of Wonderland, Creep, Freak, The Butcher, Jar of Hearts, and Little Secrets. Her brilliant new thriller is Things we do in the Dark.

February 22: A Toronto-based writer, Zalika Reid-Benta's story collection Frying Plantain won the Danuta Gleed Literary Award and the Rakuten Kobo Emerging Writer Prize for Literary Fiction. Frying Plantain was also longlisted for Scotiabank Giller Prize, and was shortlisted for the Toronto Book Award, and the Trillium Book Award. She received an M.F.A. in fiction from Columbia and her first novel River Mumma will be published in 2023.

March 22: Tsering Yangzom Lama's debut novel, We Measure the Earth with Our Bodies, is a New York Times Summer Reads Pick and a finalist for The Scotiabank Giller Prize. The book was longlisted for The Center for Fiction First Novel Prize and The Toronto Book Award. Born and raised in Nepal, Tsering Yangzom Lama is a Tibetan Canadian author. She holds an MFA in Writing from Columbia University and a BA in Creative Writing and International Relations from The University of British Columbia.
