Description

Tai Chi was originally developed for self-defense as an ancient Chinese tradition that has evolved into a graceful form of low-impact exercise. Tai Chi helps to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression.

Tai Chi, an ancient Chinese practice originally developed for self-defense, has transformed into a graceful and low-impact exercise that promotes overall well-being. Known for its ability to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, Tai Chi offers a holistic approach to health. This practice enhances aerobic capacity, energy levels, flexibility, balance, and muscle strength. Its smooth, flowing movements seamlessly transition from one posture to the next, ensuring continuous motion while minimizing strain on muscles and joints. Because of its gentle nature, Tai Chi is ideal for individuals of all ages and fitness levels. Join Set Leader Ian Davidson for a noncompetitive, self-paced journey through this restorative exercise system, which combines gentle physical movements with deep breathing techniques. While Tai Chi offers numerous health benefits, it's important to consult with your Set Leader if you are pregnant or have any existing health concerns, such as joint issues, back pain, fractures, severe osteoporosis, or a hernia.

Pre-registered participants take priority. Drop-ins aged 15+ (fitness tickets, cash, or credit card on file) are accepted only if space is permitted.

Pre-registration $5/class (sold as seasonal registration)
Fitness ticket $6/class (sold in 10 packs from Rec office)
