Description

Bronze Medallion and Cross teaches an understanding of the lifesaving principles embodied in the four components of water-rescue education - judgment, knowledge, skill and fitness. Rescuers learn tows and carries, and defense methods and releases in preparation for challenging rescues of increased risk involving conscious and unconscious victims of various types. Lifesavers develop stroke efficiency and endurance in a 500 m timed swim. Standard First Aid is for knowledge of first aid principles and the emergency treatment of injuries. Skills include victim assessment, rescue breathing, CPR, choking and what to do for external bleeding, heart attack and stroke.

Prerequisite: 13 yrs or Bronze Star (need not be current)

Candidates will receive: Canadian First Aid Manual, Bronze Medallion workbook, Bronze Cross workbook, Candian First Aid Manual.

Pocket Masks are available to use or candidates may purchase one from the front desk.

It is the responsibility of candidates to ensure they have the correct prerequisites for the course and they must be shown to the Instructor on the first class. No refunds will be given if prerequisites are not met.
