Description

Want to learn to carve like the pros? We have a great opportunity to get outdoors and embrace winter living with professional ice carver - Ryan Cook! In this workshop participants will learn the art of ice carving, using the same tools the professionals use and network with the carving team!

This year, this workshop will take place during the event weekend.

What's included in this registration:
- 1 block of ice per team (teams may have a maximum of 3 people) 40" x 20" x 10"
- Complimentary coffee/tea and light morning snack during safety talk
- Complimentary Lunch for each team
- Guided instruction by Professional Artist/Carver Ryan Cook.
- Access to limited/shared carving tools including chisels, dremel, and electric chainsaws. (see below for what tools can be brought)
All ice carvings will be required to stay in the park until Monday, February 19. Participants are responsible for removing their own sculptures should they choose to, site crew will not be available to help with removal.

Registration Restrictions and Information:
- This registration includes up to 2 additional team members if working on the SAME block of ice. 1 registration per person (team lead)
- Additional ice block(s) can be registered by other team mates if necessary (separate registration process required)

Tools that can be brought by participants: (18+ only are allowed to bring their own tools)
- Sharp woodworking or heavy metal chisels, various sizes (big chisels are very useful)
- Dremel type tools are very helpful (please inform Ryan prior to using any personal power tools)

Clothing/Materials to bring:
- Insulated rubber gloves (for in under winter mittens/gloves)
- Protective eyewear is mandatory (in the event you don't have any, some will be provided to you)
- High Vis Vest on site is mandatory (in the event you don't have one, it will be provided to you)
- Recommended ice cleats (limited amounts will be available to sign out)
- Proper winter clothes and ensure to bring extras (mitts, toque, boots, pants, jacket, etc)
- Water bottle, snacks, and any additional items you feel you need.
