The Chamber Music Academy program, led by the Garneau String Quartet, gives students the opportunity to work with Robert Uchida, Laura Veeze, Keith Hamm, and Julie Hereish. All experienced chamber musicians and orchestral leaders, the faculty looks forward to sharing their passion for ensemble playing. The young artists will experience the joy and fun of playing with others in a small group, while becoming familiar with some of the best music ever written.
Participants
This high-level chamber music program is for intermediate and advanced string and piano students. It is great for junior high, high school, and post-secondary students.
Ages: 12 to 25.
Requirement: Minimum Level 6 RCM
Sessions
There are 12 sessions, 2 hours per week. Session includes one hour of coaching and one hour of rehearsal.
The young artists will receive coaching from all members of the quartet, have the opportunity to work with guest artists, participate in performance classes, and have end-of-term performance opportunities.
