Tuesdays: July 9 – August 6, 2024
6:15-7:15 PM Beginner Combo
7:30-8:30 PM Intermediate Combo
On July 9th (1st day of combo), all participants get together at 6:15 PM for 2-hours. The two combos will be determined at that time.
Adult amateur musicians will play authentic interpretations of jazz standards from “the Real Book 6th edition,” and “Real Easy Book, Vol. 1". Participants are also encouraged to bring their own compositions to play and workshop with the band.
Since it’s a small group, there will be plenty of opportunities to solo and improvise. There will be dedicated rehearsal time to practice soloing on each tune.
Combo is a great venue for adults who...
Have 2 or more years of experience on their primary instrument.
Want to learn how to “jam” or participate in open stages.
Want to meet other beginner jazz players who want to jam together.
Play another instrument, but want to practice jazz on their secondary instrument.
Want to practice easy jazz soloing.
Interested in composing and/or arranging for a jazz ensemble we'll be very happy to try out new arrangements.
Play piano and want to go from classical to jazz piano.
