Description
Food safe is a provincial certificate credited by the Ministry of Health and supported by the Restaurant and Food Association of BC. Participants will learn about food safety and how to prevent food borne illness. They will also learn about job hazards and how to apply safe work practices to reduce job related injury and illness. Food Safe Certificates are widely recognized within the industry in British Columbia and will increase employability of the participant. After successful completion, participants will have upgraded their job skills, increased knowledge, and received Provincial Food Safe Certification.

Offered free of charge through the Strengthening Communities Grant being administered by the City of Courtenay and works to strengthen Comox Valley's response to the increased demand/need for critical homelessness support services. Working with municipal partners and an advisory committee composed of the Comox Valley Coalition to End Homelessness, Comox Valley Transition Society and Wachiay Friendship Centre.
