Textbook: NONE

Introductory courses to a career as an Automotive Service Technician where you learn the basics. Completion of all 3 1-credit CTS courses needed for advancement to Intermediate and Advanced Mechanics Courses. Three modules will be taught: MEC1015 - Mechanic Tool Materials; MEC1020-Vehicle Service & Care and MEC1040-Engine Fundamentals.

Class Structure:

Attendance is required as teachers will be instructing, working with, and supporting students throughout their assigned class times.

Note: Students who chose to take an in person class may be able to register for an online class that occurs in the afternoon or is self-directed. It is important that students who choose to take an in person and online class take transportation home into consideration so they can effectively attend their online class

All courses and school sites are subject to closure due to low enrollment. Should a course be cancelled due to low enrollment students will be contacted for a replacement course or refund. Should a school site be closed due to low enrollment, students affected will be contacted and offered a course at another school site, online or a refund.

Please note that Summer School courses are very condensed, with 4 hours of instruction per day for 20 days for the 5-credit courses and 12 days for the 3-credit courses. Missing any time from summer school will impact student success. It is extremely important that you attend every day.

Missing one day of summer school is like missing 4 days of instructional classes during the regular school year.

Students taking 3-credit courses may be withdrawn on their 3rd absence.
