Description

National Lifeguard Pool Course (NLS) National Lifeguard certification is Canada's professional lifeguarding standard.

National Lifeguard training develops a sound understanding of lifeguarding principles, good judgment, and a mature and responsible attitude towards the lifeguard's role.

National Lifeguard training emphasizes prevention and effective rescue response in emergencies including first aid treatment. The Lifesaving Society trains all of Canada's National Lifeguards.

Dates for the course:
June 6th, 7th & 8th
June 13th, 14th & 15th
* Fridays, 5-9pm; Saturdays & Sundays, 9am-5pm*

Participants are to bring the following: Canadian Lifesaving Manual, towels and bathing suits, First Aid Manual (ABC on cover), and a whistle (Fox 40).

Pre-requisites: - 15 years of age by the day of the exam - Bronze Cross by the first day of the course (does not need to be current) - Standard First Aid by the first day of the course (does not need to be current)

The Lifesaving Society has developed a training curriculum which provides candidates a sound understanding of lifeguarding principles, good judgement and communication skills as well as responsible attitude towards lifeguarding duties. A lifeguard's primary role is the prevention of emergency situations and when necessary, a timely, effective response.

National Lifeguarding training is designed to prepare candidates of the duties they will encounter as professional facilitators of safe and enjoyable aquatic activities.
