Starfish Aquatics Instructor Courses
Description
Those who aspire to become swimming instructors should enroll in this course. The Starfish Swimming Program is designed to assist swimming instructors in imparting the correct technique onto students of any age who have an interest in swimming for either recreational, fitness, or competitive purposes.
Prerequisites requirement:
1. Candidates MUST be 15 years old to participate.
2. Candidates MUST have Standard First Aid and CPR C completed before this course.
3. Candidates MUST have previous experience.
4. Candidates are required to complete the 20-hour online class prior to the course.
Steps to take the Starfish Aquatics Swim Instructor Course:
1. Take a swim skill test and, upon completion, receive your online material. The swim skills test must be passed to show that the student can swim at the level needed to demonstrate curriculum-aligned skills.
2. Work with a mentoring instructor and start practicing your teaching skills (2 hours once/twice a week) Monday & Wednesday May 26 - June 25, Tuesday May 13 - June 24, or Thursday May 15 - June 26
3. Classroom time on May 10 (9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.).
