Description
Lifesaving and Swim for Life Instructors recertification is an 8-hour re-certification that re-certifies participants in Swim for Life and Lifesaving Instructor. Successful participants will be re-certified in both courses. Program includes classroom and water activities - 100 % attendance and participation are required. Certification of this award is current for 2 years.
Completion Criteria:
• Attend and participate in 100 % of the course.
• Successfully demonstrate competency in required skills, activities and final evaluation.
Pre-Course Requirements:
• Lifesaving & Swim for Life Instructor. (Candidates must show proof of certifications to their instructor at the beginning of the class)

Lifesaving & Swim for Life Instructor Recertification awards are mailed to successful candidates by the Lifesaving Society.
Participants are required to bring all of their Lifesaving manuals to the course:
-Canadian Lifesaving Manual
- Swim for Life Award Guide
-Swim and Lifesaving Instructor Manual
- Bronze Medals Award Guide
- Leadership Reference Manual w Bronze Medals Instructor Guide.
The following items should be brought in order to participate
· 1 CPR pocket mask with a 1-way valve · 1 whistle (recommended Fox 40) · 6 pairs of latex-free gloves · 2 roller gauzes · 5 triangular bandages · 10 gauze pads · 1 golf pencil · 1 silver mylar blanket.
You may choose to purchase a leadership kit ($37.96) containing these supplies at this facility or alternatively, you may purchase them on your own.
This course runs for 2 x Evenings. Program includes classroom and water activities.
100 % attendance and participation are required on both days.
