CAPA: Children's Adapted Physical Activity Program
Standard Activity2022/2023 Year Round|#120777
Description
The CAPA program will pair student volunteers one-on-one with children who are experiencing disability (of any type: physical, sensory, developmental, and/or intellectual), ages 4-12 years. Activities will include organized games and sports, obstacle courses, craft-making, and story-telling in both the gym and swimming pool settings. The parents of each child involved will be asked to fill out a form (see below) describing the nature of their child's special needs and any specific goals they have for their child (i.e., verbal, physical, social). Each volunteer will be given this information and over the course of the first few weeks will work to develop a long-term plan to help the child work toward these goals.
Thanks to a generous donation from the Doc Seaman Foundation, the CAPA program is offered free of charge to all participants for this year!
Please complete the participant information form to help us design an effective program for your child.
