Description

Create your own stained-glass lantern with the guidance of an experienced artisan. In this workshop you’ll learn to cut and grind glass, construct a pattern, and solder your final design using copper foil. No previous experience is necessary—just enthusiasm to explore a new skill! Whether you’re inspired by the vibrant hues and intricate designs of stained-glass windows or looking to explore a new artistic avenue, all skill levels are welcome in this introductory workshop. Program supplies are included in the cost of registration. Light refreshments will be served.

There is no public transit to the museum. There is free onsite parking available.

This workshop has its own safety procedures. Your skilled artisans will review the specific safety requirements at the start of your workshop and throughout your class. You will be asked to complete a general waiver form.
This workshop runs as scheduled. In the rare event a workshop needs to be cancelled, updates will be published to the Cumberland Heritage Village Museum Facebook page and all registered participants will be contacted by email with further information regarding their options.
Makers at the Museum is a series hosted by the City of Ottawa Museums and Historic Sites that introduces participants to traditional handicrafts through beginner-friendly workshops led by skilled artisans.
