How to use register.ottawa.ca
Residents do not require an account to browse.
An account is required to create a wish list, register and pay.
1. Create or access an account.
2. Set up your account by adding family members or saving a credit card (optional).
3. Browse activities and create a wish list (optional).
4. Enroll in activities when registration opens.
5. Add your selected activities to your cart and check out.
6. Pay by credit card and receive your receipt by email.

Create an account
1. Select the orange Sign In/Up button on the main page.
2. Select Join. “Don’t have an account? Join” is located below the orange Sign In/Up button.
3. Enter your email address and select next.
4. Enter your name, date of birth and create a password.
5. Accept the terms and conditions.
Complete the security feature.
6. Go to your email and activate your account by selecting the link in the verification message. The message will come from donotreply@ottawa.ca and may get filtered to your junk or spam folders. The link will take you back to the sign-in page.
7. Enter your email address and the password you just created and complete the security feature.
Parents should create one account for their household and add children to this account, rather than creating individual accounts. See “How do I add family members?”
Add family members
1.Select ‘Manage Family Member’
2.Select ‘Add Family Member’
3.Enter a family email address or different email addresses for the added family member
4.Complete registration criteria for each added family member
5.Select ‘Submit’
6.Select ‘My Account’ to return to account page
Non-resident fee
1. Select mandatory field to self-identify as a resident or a non-resident
2. A 25% non-resident fee applies to registered activities
Withdraw from an activity
1. For summer camps, online withdrawal must be 30 days before the start date. For all other programs, online withdrawal must be seven days before the activity start date
2. Select ‘My Account’, ‘Transaction and Payment history’
3. Find the activity in the transaction list and select ‘Withdraw’
4. Choose credit card from the drop down for a refund to your card
5. Refunds applied to ‘Account’ will be placed as a credit on your Register Ottawa account
6. If funds to be refunded were paid by cash, cheque, debit or electronic cheque, a credit will be applied to the account
7. To request a refund for credits on account, a refund request form must be completed, and a cheque will be issued to you by mail. https://forms.ottawa.ca/en/form/rcfs/parks-facilities/city-of-ottawa-activenet-recreation-refund-request-form
8. An administrative fee may apply to refund credits that have been on the account for more than two years.
Reminders when creating an account
1. Create one account for each household and add all family members’ names
2.Do not create a new account if you get a message that your email is already in use
3.Follow the instructions to recover your password and use the same account
4.To update birthdates in your account email register@ottawa.ca or ask for in-person help at a facility
Browse register.ottawa.ca using filters
1. Enter course name or a related word in search bar
2. Use ‘When, Where, Who, Activities’ filters below search bar to refine search
3. Use ‘Activities’ to select ‘Type of activity’
4. Use ‘Activities’ and ‘Type of activity’ filters to select ‘Language’ ‘French or English’
5. Use ‘Activities’ and ‘Department’ filters to select camps
6. Use ‘When’ filter to select activities offered on a specific day or time
7. Use ‘When’ filter and ‘Season’ filter to select a specific registration session
8. Use ‘Who’ filter to select age range
Reminders when browsing activities
1. For help deciding if a child should be registered in the next swimming level up ask the instructor.
2. The system will not allow an under-age or over-age child to register for a program with a required age at the start of the program. Contact your recreation facility to discuss options.
3. Course titles and descriptions are written in the language of instruction.
4. When viewing a course description right click and open in a new window to avoid being brought back to the top of the list and losing the course you were looking at.
