55+ Crime Stoppers

Crime Stoppers of York Region partnered with York Regional Police Community Services Unit to launch the Seniors Crime Stoppers program in York Region in June 2006. Crime Stoppers wishes to assist the growing Senior’s community by educating and encouraging seniors to speak up anonymously about their suspicions and concerns about criminal acts against seniors including physical abuse, neglect, theft, fraud and identity theft to name but a few. Discussion topics will include a brief history of how Crime Stoppers was formed, how Crime Stoppers of York Region operates (what they do) and community initiatives and fundraising.
