Description
The nearby countryside is home to many local farmers who sell their products at the iconic market. Since 1975, visitors have enjoyed an upbeat, bustling atmosphere with outside and inside shopping venues, food courts and flea market stalls. Fresh local fruits and vegetables, quality meats and cheeses, locally-produced maple syrup, honey, preserves, baking, authentic cuisine from many cultures, imported produce, various gluten-free and organic options, local crafts and housewares are just a slice of what you’ll find at the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market. Lunch is at Golf’s Steakhouse. After lunch, we will visit The Doon Heritage Village. The picturesque 60 acre living history village shows visitors what life was like in Waterloo Region in 1914. The village comes to life with knowledgeable interpreters dressed in authentic 1914 clothing and features historic buildings, and farm animals. Learn what was happening locally, provincially, nationally and internationally in the year 1914. The village is part of the Ken Seiling Museum, which is the largest community museum in Ontario. The main gallery tells the story of Waterloo Region, and their feature gallery showcases local and travelling exhibits from around the world. Tickets available on a first-come, first-served basis until Thursday, May 18. No refunds will be issued after Thursday, May 18. Event has been cancelled. Please register for the Georgian Bay Cruise on August 24 code 88800.
