Description
Join us for the YIA Olympics! In celebration of the 2024 Summer Olympics, have fun trying out a variety of individual and team challenges. There are even awards and prizes to be won!
When: 1-4pm on Wednesday, August 14, 2024
Where: Parkland Soccer fields. Groups will be walking to/from the Edson Leisure Centre with YIA leaders for the swimming events.
What to expect:
- Participants will be divided into countries, create a flag, and partake in a variety of traditional and non-traditional events
- Activities will include swimming, track and field events, team sports, and a few surprise challenges - they are not all based on athletics!
- Points will be awarded for high scores, team spirit, and sportsmanship.
- The event will finish with a closing ceremony, featuring awards & prizes for teams and individuals
What to wear/bring:
- Weather appropriate clothing that is comfortable to move in
- Comfortable running shoes
- Swimsuit & towel
- Labeled water bottle
- Hat, sunscreen, bug spray, and anything else you may need.
