UBCycles Social Ride - Fall

Enjoy a social bike ride with our UBCycles leaders and other cycling lovers from parking lot M near the gymnasium on campus to Knox Mountain and back.

Course Description

36 km course with 403 meters of climbing. The rail trail can accommodate approximately groups of 4 abreast with staggered starts to allow for increased social distancing. The turns are gradual and safe. There will be a few sections where riders will need to cross public road ways, traffic lights and stop signs are to be obeyed. The road up knox is often busy and possibly icy, riders are encouraged to use caution when descending.

Best effort will be made to stay on schedule. However please understand that sometimes circumstances out of the organizers control may require change or delay.

Riders leave parking lot and begin the ride

Option open to return on road or on the MTB trails

Event Rules

• For your safety, if you withdraw during the duration of the event for any reason, you must inform the nearest ride leader that you are no longer participating.

• Riders will be responsible for their own health and saftey, ride leaders will provide basic first aid and carry a basic first aid kit

Equipment Required

• The wearing of an approved helmet is mandatory

• Cycling gloves are strongly recommended

• Appropriate weather appropriate clothing is recommended

• All equipment must be in good repair, have adequate tires and operating brakes
