Description
Becoming A Trauma Informed as a Yoga / Fitness Instructor with Josee Kreese.
76% of Canadians have reported being exposed to some sort of trauma in their lifetime (Van Ameringen, et al. 2008)… If you are in the business of working with bodies and working with people then you are working with trauma. Creating safety to access movement through a trauma-informed lens is the goal of this workshop.
Being trauma-informed is rooted in safety, trust, choice, and control as well as prioritizing and empowering the lived experience of every student. The content of this workshop is based on the latest trauma research, the core principles of Trauma-Informed Care, and an understanding of the widespread impact of trauma.
Through this workshop you will develop an understanding of trauma, learn about the prevalence of trauma, and understand how it can manifest in the body and mind of your students. You will walk away with concrete tools and information that can be applied in your classes.
This workshop is open to all yoga, fitness, and spin instructors, as well as personal trainers, fitness or yoga studio managers/owners, and aspiring fitness or yoga instructors.
