Description
The Jr. Heat Running program is a comprehensive club program sanctioned by BC Athletics, allowing younger athletes to train and compete in a club based program in parallel with the UBCO varsity program. High school aged athletes will have access to top coaching, training, and competitive opportunities through the Jr. Heat program. The training environment is fun, inclusive and welcoming for all athletes committed to being the best runner they can be - a positive attitude is the only pre-requisite to the program. Our training follows best practices including Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) principles, and will also be personalized according to the athletes sport background, goals and experience. Coaches will support athletes with goal setting, cross training, core strength, nutrition, race preparation, and sport psychology.
The goal of the program is to create a hub of endurance, distance, and/or cross country running excellence for athletes across the Okanagan, and to provide support as athletes develop through high school to university and beyond.
A BC Athletics Membership is required in addition to your registration
