Description
Join UBCycles in a 50km Road Ride Series that will start and end at the UBCycles Shops (Nechako 291) - 1255 International Mews, V1V 1V8 at UBCO.
This is the first ride of the UBCycles Road Riding Series on Sunday, March 19th starting at 9AM.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The weekly group ride will be run weekly on Saturday mornings at 9AM. The route will be approximately 50KM and will start and end at the UBCycles shop on campus (Nechako 291). Riders should be comfortable riding a distance of at least 50KM at a moderate pace (25 km/h). Group leaders will carry some spares in case of a flat or mechanical issue, but riders are recommended to bring their own as an added precaution. Although some routes include closed roads/bike paths, the majority of the riding will be on open roads. Participants should be comfortable riding with traffic and understand the risk associated with doing so. It is also suggested that you have experience riding in a group and are on a drop bar style bike. The ride will be no drop but may be separated into two groups to allow for a slower pace or shorter route.
