UBCO Recreation, SUO Clubs and community partners are teaming up to offer a series of cultural physical activities events that welcome domestic and international students to participate in and learn about intercultural activities. Students will learn the foundational skills of these activities in a fun and engaging setting.

Kick off the new year with movement, connection, and fun! The Ubuntu Gathering, in collaboration with Recreation, is excited to host an Intercultural Futsal Series on Thursday, January 30th, at 4:30 PM.

Football/futsal is a medium for connection within and between cultures, based on skill and teamwork. To celebrate this connection, We invite you to join us for pickup futsal games. Whether you’re a seasoned player or trying futsal for the first time, this event is for you!

Here’s what you can expect:

• Pickup futsal games in a welcoming and inclusive environment

• A chance to learn new skills through fun and engaging activities

• Teams will be formed on the day—no experience or equipment required

• A low-stakes, friendly atmosphere perfect for meeting new people

• Snacks provided to keep you fueled and energized

We warmly welcome undergrad and grad students, staff, faculty, and families to join in the fun. Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate connection and culture through sport!

All abilities welcome, no experience or equipment necessary. Please bring indoor, clean, non-marking shoes, and comfortable clothing that you can move around in.
