Description

Welcome to Youth Summer LIT Camp at Killarney Community Centre!

Learn how to become a role model while partaking in site-based activities, programming and weekly out-trips! Examples of activities include (but not limited to) team building games, workshops, crafts, community cleanups, special presentations and inspiring guest speakers tailored to youth leadership. Activities involve community engagement. Bring your friends and a sense of adventure! Don't wait, register now!

Program Fee: $150.00 for the week.
Location: Killarney Community Centre (6260 Killarney Street Vancouver, BC, V5S 2X7)
Meeting Room: Pool Multipurpose Room

Detailed Youth LIT Camp Plans will be available at the front desk.
Youth will be divided into pods of 7 and will have a designated leader all week. Youth camp will operate rain or shine. Most activities and out trips will be held outdoors within walking distance of the camps home base, no public transit or charter buses will be used.

Please note that weekly themes and schedules will be available mid-June, along with a parent/guardian handbook, and respective waiver forms.

Summer Camp Refund Policy:

21 days or more: $5.00 admin fee
8-20 days: 75% will be refunded + $5.00 admin fee
7 days or less: 50% will be refunded + $5.00 admin fee
**No refunds after first day of camp registered**

  • Killarney youth camp will operate rain or shine.
  • Children should dress appropriately for all types of the weather. Please remember: bathing suit, hat, sunscreen, rain gear, rubber boots, lunch & snack, and water.
  • Prior to camp, parents/guardians will receive an email with the Parent Communication & Policy Manual (including mandatory waiver/forms), outlining camp expectations and guidelines. These documents need to be handed in on the first day of camp or your child will not be able to attend.
  • Parents/guardians must verbally sign-in/out their child at drop-off & pick up, and complete a verbal daily health screening questionnaire or the child will not be able to participate in the day's activities.
  • Children are required to be dropped off no earlier or picked up no later than the official camp time. Penalty may apply.
Your Camp is located at Killarney Community Centre, 6260 Killarney Street, Vancouver, BC.

Killarney Community Centre Society Daycamp Refund Policy:

NOTE: The nature of the activity is such that you may interact with other people who are considered to be in good health, continuous physical distance between other people cannot be guaranteed, and, by participating in the activity, you are at risk of being infected by a pathogen, including but not limited to SARS-COV-2. SARS-COV-2, which causes the disease COVID-19, may exacerbate other health issues and is the cause of an ongoing global pandemic. SARS-COV-2 is highly communicable and dangerous. If you become infected with SARS-COV2, you may transmit it to other people even if you are not exhibiting symptoms of illness.

Communicable Disease Health & Safety Practices:
Participants should assess themselves daily for symptoms of common cold, influenza, COVID-19, or other infectious respiratory disease before attending a program.
Participants who are ill, including participants of essential service providers, should not attend a program or access the Community Centre. If you are unsure, you should self-isolate and contact 8-1-1 or the local public health unit.
All participants are encouraged to practice proper hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette by covering coughs or sneezes.
