Description

An intermediate workshop meant for people that have taken Leatherwork 101 or Tote Bag workshop recently (prerequisite). This workshop is meant for people wanting to advance their skills in leatherwork. Requirements: Must know how to mark a stitch line, line up and punch holes using irons, and stitch. This workshop will involve making a lined, zippered, clutch bag out of fine goat leather. If you haven't taken the prerequisite but feel you have the skill requirements, please contact finance@vancouvertoollibrary.com to gain an exception to register. Skills learned: Edge painting, use of a filtuse/creasing machine, use of reinforcements, zipper installation, more complex construction considerations.

Prerequisite for this class is Leatherwork 101 or Tote Bag workshop from last season. If you think you have the skill requirements to override the prerequisite, please contact finance@vancouvertoollibrary.com for override instructions.

NOTE: The nature of the activity is such that you may interact with other people who are considered to be in good health, continuous physical distance between other people cannot be guaranteed, and, by participating in the activity, you are at risk of being infected by a pathogen, including but not limited to SARS-COV-2, which causes the disease COVID-19.


Communicable Disease Health & Safety Practices:

• Participants are required to comply with the current Orders of the Provincial Health Officer. For more information, please cut and paste into your web browser: https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/covid-19/info/restrictions

• Participants should assess themselves daily for symptoms of common cold, influenza, COVID-19, or other infectious respiratory disease before attending the Facility.

• Participants who are ill, including participants of essential service providers, should not attend a program or access the Community Centre. If you are unsure, you should self-isolate and contact 8-1-1 or the local public health unit.

• All participants are encouraged to practice proper hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette by covering coughs or sneezes.


Refund & transfer policy

Programs

-Full refunds and transfers to another program will be issued for any program cancelled by the Association.

-Full refunds and transfers to another program, minus the $5.00 administration fee, will be issued to the purchaser with a full 48 hours’ notice of the first advertised class.

-For refund & transfer requests received up to 24 hours after the second advertised class, the purchaser will be charged the $5.00 administration fee and the cost of the first two classes. After this time there is no refund.

-Cancellation requests cannot be submitted by email or 3-1-1 calls.

-Registrations are non-transferable to another person.


Birthday parties and All camps

-Full refunds, minus an administration fee, will be issued to the purchaser with a full 30 days notice. Note that 30 days includes weekend days.

-Registrations are non-transferable to another person.

-Cancellation requests cannot be submitted by email or 3-1-1 calls.


Workshops, bus trips and special events

-Full refunds, minus the administration fee, will be issued to the purchaser with a full 8 days’ notice. Note that 8 days includes weekend days.

-Refund requests received after the 8 day period will be will not be issued any refund.

-Registrations are non-transferable to another person.

-Cancellation requests cannot be submitted by email or 3-1-1 calls.
