Aberthau Community Garden

Aberthau Community Permaculture and Eco Art Garden (NW Marine Drive between Discovery and Trimble Street). Located behind the Mansion and hosted by Village Vancouver (VV), the garden includes VV's recently expanded Collaborative Demonstration Permaculture Garden, the WPG Preschool Garden and art/garden projects by our artist residencies. Emphasizing permaculture design elements, it offers fun, inclusive social, educational, culinary, artistic, and cultural activities for community members. All levels of experience are welcome at our weekly garden work parties, including new gardeners (for more info: ACG@villagevancouver.ca). At Aberthau and McBride Park Fieldhouse (2049 Waterloo St.), enjoy timely gardening workshops including Healthy Soil for a Great Garden, Gardening in the Fall, Container and Windowsill Gardening, Urban Gardening, Indoor Vertical Gardening, other plant, health, and/or creative eco-art and craft DIY offerings like DIY Sugar Scrubs and Bath Salts, Crafted Tea Making, DIY Crochet Dishcloths, Mini-Macrame Wall Hangings, Zero Waste in the Kitchen and DIY Beeswax Wraps, Mason Jar Salads and Meal Planning, Cool Summer Drinks, Mandala of Dreams and Nature, and a Native Edible Talk and Walk. We also offer other activities (most of which are free) such as monthly Permaculture Vancouver meetups, vertical gardening at McBride Park, and you can pick up free seeds for gardening. Separate registration required for each activity. and all workshops are free or low cost for seniors.
