Land Based Emancipation Day Celebration

To commemorate August 1st and Emancipation day, the day when slavery was abolished in Canada and across the "British Empire", join us in the garden for a land-based celebration! Participants will be led in an Afro-Caribbean plant walk, harvest dye plants including indigo, and get a chance to work with fresh indigo, amaranth and/or marigold natural dyes. There will be a performance of original music in an acoustic set in the garden, and a light picnic lunch will be served.
