Participants

This program is for Children 7-12 years, who are Two Spirit, Trans, and Gender Diverse people (2STGD).

Gender creative, non binary, questioning gender non conforming.. All those labels work too!

No experience required, all are welcome.

Program Overview

Get Creative! provides a safe space for Two Spirit, Trans, and Gender Diverse (2STGD) children to connect and create!

Program Leader

Classes will be led by Wake Darrah Cook (he/they), Emily Carr Alumnus and published comic artist.

Plan Ahead

  • Personal belongings can be brought inside the room.
  • Do not bring anything scented (body products, clothing with residue from scented laundry products)
  • Bring a favourite sketchbook and pencil, or use provided supplies.
  • Our space will have bright overhead lighting, plus natural lighting from window, tables, chairs, and a power outlet to share.
  • Second floor washrooms are binary with "gender diverse people welcome" signage, and a single-user washroom is available between the binary washrooms,
  • Second floor is accessed by stairs or elevator.

  • This program is weekly on Wednesdays at 3:45-5:00 PM in a multipurpose room on the 2nd floor..
  • This program is located in central Vancouver. Exact location details are shared with parents or caregivers supporting 2STGD children, please email 2STGD@vancouver.ca with a couple words about their gender identity. Their identity information will only be seen by Queer Inclusion staff and will not be shared.

    Communicable Disease Health & Safety Practices:

    • Participants should assess themselves daily for symptoms of common cold, influenza, COVID-19, or other infectious respiratory disease before attending a program.

    • Participants who are ill, including participants of essential service providers, should not attend a program or access the Community Centre. If you are unsure, you should self-isolate and contact 8-1-1 or the local public health unit.

    • All participants are encouraged to practice proper hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette by covering coughs or sneezes.
