Participants

This program is for Teens 13-18 years, who are Two Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bi/Pan, Trans, Queer or Questioning, Intersex, Agender + other orientation and gender identities (2SLGBQIA+)..

Teens 13-18 who are allies (supportive of Two Spirit, Queer and Trans people) are welcome and encouraged to attend.

No experience required, all are welcome.

Program Overview

Connect with other teens who are 2SLGBTQIA+ or allies, and co-create the program of your dreams! The first season will include games, crafts, and team-building activities, and will grow to develop leadership skills and community involvement.

This session is facilitated by a member of the Queer Inclusion Program Assistant team

Plan Ahead

  • Personal belongings can be brought inside the room.
  • Do not bring anything scented (body products, clothing with residue from scented laundry products)
  • Supplies will be provided for any planned activities.
  • Our space will have overhead and natural lighting. Folding chairs and a piano bench are available, other seating can be arranged by request.
  • Ground floor washrooms are binary with "gender diverse people welcome" signage. A single-user washroom is available in the rink lobby.
  • Ground floor access is level, no stairs.
  • Program Specifics

  • This program is weekly on Tuesdays at 3:30-5:30 PM in a multipurpose room on the ground floor. Late arrivals are welcome.
  • This program is located in east Vancouver. Exact location details are shared with 2SLGBQIA+ teens and their allies, or cis parents or caregivers supporting 2SLGBQIA+ teens. Please email QYouth@vancouver.ca with a few words indicating your 2SLGBQIA+ identity or allyship. Your identity information will only be seen by Queer Inclusion staff and will not be shared.

    • Participants should assess themselves daily for symptoms of common cold, influenza, COVID-19, or other infectious respiratory disease before attending a program.

    • Participants who are ill, including participants of essential service providers, should not attend a program or access the Community Centre. If you are unsure, you should self-isolate and contact 8-1-1 or the local public health unit.

    • All participants are encouraged to practice proper hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette by covering coughs or sneezes.
