Description

Learn how to play tennis in a small group setting. This course provides an introduction to the game with an eventual progression to rally and play within the full court setting.

Student Background Beginning or continuing to:
- Develop technique for groundstrokes
- Develop ability to rally consistently from the ½ court and ¾ court settings

Development Focus
- Develop a solid technical foundation for groundstrokes
- Introduce players to cooperative and competitive rally games
- Develop a love for tennis in a positive environment

Since 2012, Summer Smash Tennis has provided tennis programs to community centres and schools across Vancouver. Our coaches are certified instructors who have worked with thousands of students to inspire a passion for tennis and sport.

Key Information
• All tennis lessons are taught by a Tennis Canada Certified Instructor
• Max student-to-teacher ratio of 6:1
• Students are expected to bring their own racquets to the lesson and to come dressed in athletic • clothing with athletic shoes
• Students are expected to bring water
• In the case of rainy or questionable weather, classes may be canceled. The instructor will contact you. Refunds will be issued at the end of the session.

Waiver
Students must complete our activity waiver prior to the first class. Waivers are available online at www.summersmashtennis.ca. Participants will not be allowed to play until a completed waiver has been submitted

NOTE: The nature of the activity is such that you may interact with other people who are considered to be in good health, continuous physical distance between other people cannot be guaranteed, and, by participating in the activity, you are at risk of being infected by a pathogen, including but not limited to SARS-COV-2, which causes the disease COVID-19.

Communicable Disease Health & Safety Practices:

• Participants should assess themselves daily for symptoms of common cold, influenza, COVID-19, or other infectious respiratory disease before attending the Facility.
• Participants who are ill, including participants of essential service providers, should not attend a program or access the Community Centre. If you are unsure, you should self-isolate and contact 8-1-1 or the local public health unit.
• All participants are encouraged to practice proper hand hygiene and respiratory etiquette by covering coughs or sneezes.

Requests for refunds must be received at least 24hrs prior to the 1st class, 2 days prior to the 2nd scheduled class for pro-rated refund. Refunds are subject to a $5 administrative fee.
