Family Drum Circle - Westhills

Ages: 4 years old and up!

In this family-oriented group class, participants will learn rhythms and patterns using a variety of size-appropriate drums. The students, alongside a parent/guardian, will discover the excitement of playing different rhythms and patterns on the various drums, while exploring how different parts and patterns join to make a whole. The patterns can be passed around the circle and played among the group in a "call and answer" game, forming a conversation. This participatory, creative-focused program will introduce foundational hand drumming techniques and help participants discover how to bring out the unique sound quality of each drum.

No experience is necessary!

Please note: advanced registration is required for this class, and one parent/guardian is expected to register, attend and participate alongside the children. This class is intended as an Intergenerational class, where anyone ages 4 and up are welcome. We’re hoping for a mix of kids, parents, and grandparents to all come together for a fun and engaging class!
