Description

Push! (Ableton Live Suite 11):

Ages: Youth 13+ and Adult

This immersive summer Music Technology program is for students wishing to explore the uses of Ableton Live 10 and Push. Taught by electronic music producer and composer Nathan Jonson, the weekly 3-hour workshops focus on solutions for integrating the award winning Ableton Live 11 software with the amazing Push electronic instrument, into both composition and live performance workflows.

The program will be broken into the following modules:

Week 1 - Field Recordings / Sample Import / Playing recorded samples with Push

Week 2 - Sample Manipulation / Drum Creation / Drum Programming

Week 3 - Synthesizer Programming / Writing Melodies and Bass Lines

Week 4 - Effects / Mixing / Arrangement / Rendering Final Project

Each day ends with students sharing their progress and thoughts on what they’ve learned, helping to further inspire the creativity in each other. The course results in each student taking home a piece of original electronic music they've written.

Note to Students: Please bring your own headphones and a USB stick or SD card to each class.
