Description
The City of Welland in partnership with Niagara College and Canadian Tire Jumpstart are hosting the second Welland Girls Sports Day on Saturday, June 3rd from 10AM to 2:00PM at the Empire Sportsplex. Open to girls from 6 to 12 years old, this is a fun and free event to introduce a variety of sports to young girls from accomplished local female athletes and coaches. There will be six different sport stations for the girls to try out after an initial warm-up and stretch: softball, basketball, beach volleyball, tennis, golf and soccer. After lunch, there will be free play time until 2:00PM.
The facility and all programs are accessible to everyone and no experience is required. Girls will receive free swag and sports equipment to take home as well as a free lunch.
A parent or guardian must be present to check in the pre-registered child and must remain onsite for the duration of the event. While there is seating available, we recommend that the parent/guardian brings their own chair. Registration is open until 10AM on Tuesday, May 30th. A rain date for the event would be Sunday, June 4th.
