Description

A Very Good Improv Class for Teens

In this course for students between the ages of 14 and 17, you will learn the basics to dive confidently into the world of improv. You’ll learn what makes it fun to do, and fun to watch. You’ll learn how to be funny without trying to be funny. Your teacher, Syd Campbell, is a professional comedian who is also a seasoned, hilarious teacher!
This course is offered through an exciting new collaboration between The District of West Vancouver and Blind Tiger Comedy (BTC). Weekly camps will take place at The Music Box in Ambleside Park.

Registration and administration will be handled by the District of West Vancouver and students will be subject to the conduct policies upheld by Blind Tiger Comedy. As part of the registration process please complete Blind Tiger Comedy’s Student Policy Forms.

Blind Tiger Comedy is committed to reducing the barriers to participation in our comedy classes, and to making those classes as safe/brave as possible. The better we can create spaces where more folks are welcome, the more welcome those folks will feel, and the more those spaces will be welcoming. As part of a commitment to make comedy accessible for as many folks as possible, at least two scholarship spots will be made available through BTC’s Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship (Apply Here) and Financial Aid Scholarship (Apply Here).

Illness Attendance Policy
  • If you are feeling sick, whether with symptoms of COVID-19 or another illness, do NOT come to your comedy class. .
  • The Blind Tiger team will do our best to support students needing to miss class with symptoms. Your teacher and classmates will fill you in on what you missed, and if significant class time is missed the admin team will set you up with a credit for Blind Tiger Comedy.
  • Your teacher may need to miss time if they have symptoms. Every effort will be made to replace any teacher who is being cautious, but this may lead to last minute cancellations as circumstances arise. Classes will be rescheduled, and credits will be offered in cases where classes cannot be made up in a reasonable manner.
  • Obviously, we’re all in this together. Please do not put attending a comedy class before the safety of your fellow classmates and teachers, and BTC will do our best to support you in making safe choices!
