Description

Be inspired by the waterfront location, create an abstract beach painting using a palette knife, and master the art of building texture. Participants will be using modelling paste and various viscosities of gel medium and resin sand, layered with acrylic paint and hi-lighted with gold leaf and resin to create a sun lit effect. All skill levels welcome. Bring your own canvas (minimum 12" x 12", up to 24' x 24"), all other materials supplied. Ages 14 and up.

About the instructor: Tracey has a BFA from UVIC and a diploma in classical and 3D animation from VFS. After a 12 year career in the industry, she has returned to her fine art roots and creates west coast inspired abstract art along with painting murals, illustrating children's books and facilitating art classes and workshops for children and adults. Her work is inspired by her love of travel, wildlife and the serenity of nature with vibrant spots of colour and texture.
