About the presenter:
Mallory Donen is a multidisciplinary artist residing in Vancouver. Mallory has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of the Fraser Valley, and a Master of Fine Arts from University of Manitoba.
Mallory’s art explores the intersection of digital art and embroidery, through processes rooted in traditional craft passed down from generations of women in her family. By using the distinct grid format of cross-stitching she creates connections between threads and pixels.
Donen was a recipient of Research and Creation grants from the Canada Council for the Arts in 2021 and 2022. She has exhibited solo and group shows both nationally and internationally in the USA. Currently she works from her art studio in Mount Pleasant, at City Centre Artist Lodge (a former motel).
