Circle of Kindness: Building Empathy in Your Child Care

This workshop you will learn ways to teach children about kindness, empathy, inclusivity, and cooperation in childcare settings. Explore new ways to teach and inspire children to the different ways to learn empathy skills and spread kindness in your child care and community. Participants will learn simple and practical ideas to teach children about how to be kind, ways to show kindness, understanding different perspectives, as well as related stories, songs, and a book list.

Cheryl is an early childhood educator and Canadian family educator, Cheryl has 25 years of experience working with children and families in variety of early years programs, such as child care centres, and early years program, and Mother Goose program. She also works with educators at a local college, and various agencies facilitating workshops. She especially loves finding creative ways to make circle time engaging and educational.
