Description

Suitable for all early learning professionals and parents.

Presenter: Rae Pica

This presentation debunks the myth that the mind and body are separate and unrelated. If we heed the research, nature’s plan, and child development, we understand it’s vital that active learning and physical activity be part of the child care and the child’s day, for the sake of both body and mind. The result will be more engagement, fewer disruptions, and children who retain more of what they learn!

Rae Pica has been an education consultant dedicated to the development and education of the whole child since 1980 and is the most-published author in the fields of children’s physical activity and active learning. A former adjunct instructor with the University of New Hampshire, she is the author of 21 books, including the textbook Experiences in Movement and Music and, most recently, What If We Taught the Way Children Learn?, What If Everybody Understood Child Development?, and Acting Out!: Avoid Behavior Challenges with Active Learning Games & Activities.
