Presenter: Corene Brown

Want to add more music to your circle times but are intimidated by the guitar and are sick of egg shakers? Introducing the versatile, easy-to-learn and adorable ukulele! Children will be charmed by this fun instrument that you can't help but smile when you listen to it. At this two-hour hands-on workshop, you will learn how to strum, basic chords to some fabulous children’s songs. No musical experience required! The class will include a booklet of songs and chords to practice at home.

Free Ukulele to Take Home with You!

Corene Maret Brown is the Programs & Youth Services Coordinator at the Port Moody Public Library and is an enthusiastic amateur ukulele player. She taught herself ukulele through a combination of hubris (how hard can this be?) and watching YouTube videos. She plays ukulele at story times, classroom visits and does a mean version of the Gilmore Girls theme song.
