Inclusion in Child Care

Providing an inclusive, supportive environment is a priority provincially, in your community and for all families and children accessing child care. In this training you will learn the importance of providing an inclusive child care environment, general inclusive strategies you can easily implement to provide quality environments that support children of all abilities. We will discuss inclusion policies in child care settings and how the language we use matters in a safe, welcoming, meaningful forum.

Adelle is a Supported Child Development Consultant in the Burnaby community from the BC Centre for Ability. She is a community partner and works conscientiously with many childcare programs in the community. She provides inclusive strategies, and training in order to increase the overall participation of diverse learners. She has a Bachelor of Arts in PSYC, & Fine Arts, as well as a Bachelor of Education in primary education. She has 25 years of experience working in three different communities with diverse learners, including Squamish, Vancouver, and Burnaby.

Thess has been fortunate to work with diverse groups of children and families for over 14 years as an Early Childhood Educator and now as a SCD Consultant. She is passionate about inclusive practice and reflective work with children and families. She believes that every child deserves to have equitable access to reach their full potential.
