This workshop is the workshop version of the content in her latest book: Lisa Murphy On...Being Child Centered. This season provides an in-depth exploration of the 9 points within the framework of Lisa Murphy's approach to working with children. Via interactive lecture, true-to-life examples, anecdotes and her signature "learning and laughing" style, this workshop presents what it really means to be a hands-on, play-based, child-centered program.
Lisa Murphy has been involved in early childhood education for over 30 years. She has written five books, produced numerous training DVDs, serves on many early childhood advisory boards, is an international speaker and trainer, is co-host of the podcast Child Care Bar and Grill and is the founder and CEO of Ooey Gooey, Inc. As an outspoken advocate, Lisa is known for her commitment to creating child-centered, play-based early childhood environments and her fierce protection of childhood. In 2013 she received her Master in Early Childhood Education from Champlain College, in 2018 she received the Patricia Monighan Nourot Award for Exemplary Leadership and Play Advocacy from NAEYC's Play Policy and Practice interest Forum, and in 2020, her latest book Lisa Murphy On...Being Child Centered was nominated for "Best in Education" by Midwest Book Awards. Her seminars have been called humorous, energetic, content-rich and inspiring. She currently resides in Central Florida.
