The Day Camp Accessibility and Inclusion program provides 1:1 support for children ages 4-12 years old who require additional assistance in order to participate in camp programming. It is important to note that enrolling in this course, your child is not yet registered for camp.
This enrollment puts your child’s name on a list in sequential order. You will then be contacted by a Day Camp staff who will review the camp location/week/program options with you and ask more detailed information about your child’s need to ensure this program is the right fit and that we are setting them up for a successful summer. After placement has been confirmed, your child's information will be sent to our Contact Centre and you will be contacted to finalize the registration. There is no additional cost to be enrolled in this program.
Deadline to apply to this program is March 31st. Due to high demand, children can be registered for up to 4 weeks in the Day Camp Inclusion program. After March 31st if you have expressed interest in additional weeks or you are on the waitlist for this program, you will be contacted to speak about availability and placement.
Please note: We do not provide assistance with medical equipment and/or procedures such as g-tube feeding and catheter care. We also do not provide full washroom assistance which could include; lifts wiping and diaper changes.
If you are only interested in having your child(ren) attend a Licensed Summer Club, which is a summer program delivered within a YMCA Child Care centre, please contact the specific location directly as their accessibility and inclusion offerings differ than what is stated above.
