By giving to the Alternative Suspension program, you are enabling the YMCA of Greater Moncton to help children and youth thrive. YMCA Alternative Suspension is the only program of its kind in Canada that offers support to students who are suspended from school, before they drop out and leave school permanently. This program provides an out of school learning space for youth who would otherwise be left to their own devices without structure or supervision during a suspension.

Your gift to our areas of greatest need would ensure that the YMCA of Greater Moncton continues to provide programs and services dedicated to personal growth and community development. We offer a wide range of programs in health and fitness, youth and leadership development, child care, global initiatives, camps and volunteer opportunities.

Gift of Camp

The YMCA of Greater Moncton has built strong, supportive partnerships with the YMCA in Risaralda, Colombia. Just like the work of the YMCA in our own community, the project centers on nurturing the potential of children and youth, promoting healthy living, and fostering social responsibility through civic engagement.

At least 235,000 Canadians experience homelessness annually. At least 150,000 Canadians a year use a homeless shelter. When the local Y established ReConnect in collaboration with community partners in 2001, the program was developed to do more than just meet the short-term, ‘hand-out’ needs of those on the street, needs such as food or shelter.
