Description

This course is part of the Quebec government's free lifeguard program designed to address the lifeguard shortage that has been affecting the province since the Covid-19 pandemic. All lifeguard classes will be free including this one until further notice.

We are requiring a 50$ deposit to ensure everyone shows up for the course. Once the course is over, and participants have attended the course consistently and completely, that deposit will be returned. If registration is cancelled less than 48h before the start date or the participant failed the exam, the $50 deposit cannot be credited or refunded.

Bronze cross is a prerequisite for the national lifeguard program and is designed for lifesavers. It provides more advanced training and an introduction to safety and prevention in aquatic facilities.

Prerequisite: Bronze Medallion and aquatic abilities

Evaluation on the first class of aquatic abilities : Advanced swimming capacities (front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, head-up front crawl, head-up breaststroke, and eggbeater), capacity to swim for 5 meters with a 4,5 kg object, and being able to swim 400m in less than 11 minutes.

May only miss 1 class. Exam date to be determined. If the exam is missed, participants must register for a challenge exam. This costs $100 for members and $118 for non-members.

**Please note: a fob is required for this class. If you do not already have one you have to purchase one for 10$ at the front desk.
