Intro to Oil Painting Workshop

Curious about painting with oils but unsure if you're ready to invest in the materials? Want to explore the unique properties of oil paints in a friendly, low-stakes class? Join Alison Innes for a two-week course to learn about oil mediums, theories of colour mixing; proper care, prep, and use of painting equipment and canvas; use of neutral colours to create tones; and paint monochromatically to give shapes form. Students will have the opportunity to experiment with brushwork, painting knives, and colour to complete an 8" x 10" oil painting. Course fee includes all required materials and personalized instruction. Each student may bring a black-and-white copy of their own reference photo or use the one provided.
