Description

The skills assessment is an opportunity for individuals who are interested in obtaining their lifeguarding and swim instructor certifications through our Learn. Grow. Get Hired program.
Participants who attend and successfully complete the skills assessment will be offered participation in upcoming courses with the cost of the course and certification fees covered.
Candidates will receive advanced registration.
Candidates will be responsible for purchasing the material costs of each course.
Prerequisites:
- Minimum age 13 or 12 years of age with Bronze Star and adults of all ages welcome
- A strong swimmer, can swim 16 lengths without stopping
During the assessment, participants will be asked to demonstrate the following:
- Swim front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke and lifesaving kicks
- Swim 16 lengths without stopping and will be timed
- Object recovery from the bottom of deep end
If applicable, please bring current or expired original certifications to the skills assessment.
