Thank you for your interest in the Learn. Grow. Get Hired Program.
Due to the overwhelming response, we have currently closed the program for registrations and are focusing on moving our current participants through courses over the next several months.
The City of St.Catharines on November 21 will provide an update as to whether the program will re-open for new registrations or remain closed.
We thank you for your patience and understanding.
The Learn. Grow. Get Hired program is an opportunity through the City of St. Catharines to receive discounted Aquatic Certification courses to individuals ages 13 and older, and adults of any age.
By registering in this program, you are indicating that you are interested in obtaining one or more of the certifications listed below:
- Bronze Medallion
- Standard First Aid
- Bronze Cross
- Swim Instructor
- Lifesaving Instructor
- National Lifeguard Pool
- High Five
Participants will be contacted about attending an initial skills assessment. Those individuals who are successful in the skills assessment will be offered participation in upcoming courses.
Participants who hold certifications are asked to send a copy of their permanent and/or temporary cards to aquatics@stcatharines.ca. Certifications will be reviewed, and if prerequisites can be met participants will be offered upcoming courses or asked to attend a skills assessment.
The City of St. Catharines will cover the cost of the course and certification fees. Candidates will be responsible for purchasing the material cost of the course (course books).
Please note that there is a 100% attendance commitment for the courses. If you are unable to commit to the course days and times, and exam dates you are eligible to be registered in, registration can be deferred.
