Description

Hop On Photo

The grassroots HopOn program is designed to help young people master basic cycling skills and build confidence through achievement. Launched by Ontario Cycling, the program is a fun, games-based and inclusive of all riders. Our goal is to provide a safe and inclusive environment for youth to socially interact and develop their on-bike skills with our trained instructors.

All of our instructors of HopOn must complete a series of National Coaches Certification Program (NCCP) training courses as well as the HopOn eLearning module and in-person orientation. As an instructor, it is also required to submit a vulnerable sector background check.

Our 4-week after school program helps students learn basic cycling skills and safety awareness such as:
  • Turning quickly
  • Looking behind while riding straight
  • Rolling off a sidewalk curb
Our sessions stay within the safe confines of the designated area of a designated area of the Seymour Hannah Arena parking lot.
