Bradley/McGillivray Blues Band!
"A wickedly good act" CANADIAN MUSICIAN MAGAZINE
Through groove, improv and raw, unadulterated emotion, Bradley/McGillivray take the blues and turn it on its head. They play with authenticity, whether an uptown jazz shuffle, gritty Mississippi blues, or New Orleans funk. Influenced by artists like Warren Haynes, Robben Ford, Susan Tedeschi, Janis Joplin and Etta James, they showcase an impressive repertoire of original music and signature classics.
Ruth McGillivray's a singer you don't want to miss--captivating, authentic and entertaining, with a wicked set of pipes. Her knock-you-flat vocals are nicely balanced by Sheldon Bradley's tasteful, understated guitar, and the whole sound is rounded out by an inventive rhythm section. Together, they've been blending blues, jazz, Motown and gospel into their own hip brand of blues and soul since 1999.
With two original albums under their belt and a third due in early 2016, this band is road-tested. They've been featured annually at the Pender Harbour Jazz Festival since 2006 and appear regularly at Vancouver-area clubs, casinos and concert venues. This is an act not to be missed!
